Girls drop tourney opener

The Lady Badgers were ahead by five at halftime but couldn’t overcome 31 points of second half scoring by the Priest River Spartans, losing the Intermountain League tournament opener 45-36 on Feb. 9.

Melissa Krampert scored nine of her 13 points in the fourth quarter and was 7 of 8 from the line to seal the deal for the Spartans.

Scoring for Bonners Ferry came mainly from Savannah Woods with 14 points and Jasmine Hill with 9. Abby Skeen had 5 points for the Badgers and Regan Byers came in with 4. Abby Davis and Miranda Wenk rounded out the scoring with two points apiece.

The Lady Badgers played Kellogg in a loser-out game Wednesday night, too late for deadline. Priest River went on to face Timberlake later Wednesday with the winner advancing to the state tourney.
