Cindy Lee Large, 60

Cindy Lee Large, 60, peacefully passed away in her sleep at home on the morning of Dec. 31, 2014, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, after a recent diagnosis of lung cancer.

A memorial celebrating her life will been held for her at Mountain Springs church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on Jan. 8 at 1 p.m.

Graveside service will be held in the spring. Cindy was born on Nov. 29, 1954, in Helena, Mont., to Les and Janet Rate. Cindy grew up in Santa Cruz, Calif., with her two brothers Lester Jr. and John Carl.

After an adventurous youth Cindy fell in love and married Ron Large, her husband for 30 years. They were married in California and moved to Minnesota and later to Bonners Ferry.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Les and Janet, and her brother, Lester.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Ron; brother, John Carl; children, Brandon Poepping in Washington, Jeanette and Jason Schlarb in California; and six grandchildren.

Some of Cindy’s past jobs were working at the Bonners Ferry Senior Center and the Kootenai Casino, Cindy’s interests included hunting, fishing, gardening, scrapbooking, sewing, music, spending time with family, pets, and her personal journey with Christ.

Cindy’s most beloved interest was she and her husband’s travel ministry, after which she obtained a certification with the North Idaho Chaplain Corps ministry. Cindy was a strong willed, big hearted, caring, and supportive woman who will deeply be missed by all that knew her.

Cindy‘s life motto is clearly stated by “God doesn’t give us what we can handle. God helps us handle what we are given.”
