Lady Badgers stop slump, but lose to Kellogg in league
BONNERS FERRY — Lady Badgers went one for two last week beating Coeur d’Alene Charter 46-33 on Thursday, Jan. 15 and losing a close match to Kellogg Friday, Jan. 16 32-36.
“Savannah Woods had a strong weekend with 14 points vs CdA Charter and 13 Points and 10 rebounds vs Kellogg,” said coach Chris Chatburn.
The Lady Badgers out scored the Panthers by 13 points in the first half, including a 13 to 3 second quarter.
They were able to withstand a strong second half showing from the Panthers that cut the lead to eight points and put the game away up by 11.
The Lady Badgers finished the first half of the game up by two but couldn’t hold on for the league road win.
“After scoring 25 points in the first half Friday, we went cold from the field and scored just 7 in the second half,” said Chatburn. The varsity team is still without a win in league play.
“Timberlake is darn good, ranked number one in the state,” Chatburn said.
“Poor shooting plagued us in the other two games.”
The JV team continued to play well, beating Kellogg 66-38. They are now 12-1 on the season and every girl scored in the contest, Chatburn said.
