Elaine M. Murray, 81

Elaine M. Murray, 81, of Bonners Ferry, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2015, at Bonners Ferry Hospital’s Extended Care Facility with family members by her side.

She was born Elaine Bosch on Aug. 24, 1933, in Mobridge, S.D., to Peter Bosch and Mary Vetter Bosch, who were both born in Russia. Elaine was the youngest of 11 children.

She married Donald C. Murray of Java, S.D., on Jan. 2, 1951, in Roscoe, S.D. The two were married 58 years. Elaine and Don lived most of those years in Dumas, Texas, and Colorado Springs, Colo., where Don worked as a helicopter mechanic and Elaine worked in retail. For 20 of those years, Elaine worked as a shipping and receiving clerk for Walter Drake in Colorado Springs.

The couple had three children: Bruce, Sherry, and LaTresa. Elaine moved to Bonners Ferry in 2010 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, LaTresa and Joseph Pemp.

Elaine was an avid reader and she held a passion for bird watching. She was known for her bright smile and sense of humor.

Survivors include one sister, Phill Wesen of Shoreview, Minn.; a son, Bruce Murray of Lost Springs, Wyo.; two daughters, Sherry Murray of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and LaTresa Pemp of Bonners Ferry; three grandchildren, Ammie Murray of Lost Springs, Wyo.; Colin Pemp of Sandpoint, Idaho; and Dustin Schaeffer of Colorado Springs.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald Murray, and her grandson, Jonathan Pemp, both in 2009.
