City fees increase

BONNERS FERRY — A water capitalization fee of $2,929 and sewer capitalization fee of $863 (per equivalent dwelling unit) was adopted by the Bonners Ferry City Council on July 7.

A public hearing on this fee increase was held on June 2. These fees only affect new construction on homes or in the case of purchasing homes that have been foreclosed on. A study was conducted on the city’s system and it was determined that the increase was necessary to keep up with the city’s water and sewer. Monthly water and sewer rates were increased in January.
