John E. Hicks, 94

John E. Hicks, 94, passed away on April 25, 2015, at the Community Restorium in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

John was born on Aug. 27, 1919 in War, W.Va., to Jesse and Flaranda Hicks. He attended elementary schools there in West Virginia and worked in a coal mine.

In 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in WW II. He was discharged in 1946.

He marred Florence and adopted her daughter, Sandy, and settled in Lincoln, Neb. In 1956 he moved with his family to Phoenix where he and his brother ran a construction company. John retired in 1988 and moved to Moyie Springs, Idaho. After the death of his wife Florence he married Cleo Mae in 2003.

John is survived by his wife, Cleo Mae, of Bonners Ferry; daughter Sandy Shuman and husband Fred; grandchildren Chris Domeraski, LuAnn Domeraski and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death his parents and wives Florence and Mary Ellen.
