Terrel (Terry) Jeppesen

Terrel (Terry) Jeppesen passed away at home on March 12, 2015.

Terry was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Nov. 29, 1935, to George and Georgia Jeppesen. His family moved to the Fall Creek area in the mid 1930s, where he attended school and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1953.

In 1967, he married Kyla Torgeson and became an instant father to five boys: Dick, David, Allen, Rick and Jay. They made their home in Naples Idaho, where they raised their children. Terry and Kyla also raised three grandchildren: T.J, Misty and Jypsy.

When he was 18, Terry started working for Thompson Sawmill stacking lumber. He served in the Army from 1958 to 1960 and was stationed in Germany. When he returned to Naples, he went back to work at the sawmills, and worked his way up to head sawyer for Crown Pacific, where he retired from in 2001. Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work and fixing cars and trucks.

One of Terry’s favorite things to do was to volunteer in local organizations. He was president and head of maintenance for the 20 mile water association. He also helped start and was a prominent member of the Naples volunteer fire department. He was a lifetime member of the John Birch Society. Terry was always known for the big grin on his face and for offering a helping hand to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Georgia Jeppesen, his wife Kyle Jeppesen, his son David Torgeson, granddaughter Billie Jo Torgeson, daughter-in-law Patricia Torgesen, mother-in-law Jessie Dombey and brother-in-law James Styers.

He is survived by his brother Jay Jeppesen; Jay’s wife Elizabeth Jeppesen; sister Mary Jo Styers; brother Allen Jeppeson; sons Dick Torgeson and his wife Odeesa, Allen Jeppesen, Rick Torgeson and his wife Pam, Clement (Jay) Jeppesen and his wife Horfa; numerous nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
