BONNERS FERRY — A Bonners Ferry man is being charged in Montana with distribution and felony possession of dangerous drugs after a dead body was found on a lawn in Great Falls, Mont. Forty-year old Thomas Wehner appeared in the Cascade County Justice Court after confessing that he had provided a man with methamphetamine.

Great Falls police were dispatched Oct. 1 to respond to a deceased male, identified as Edward Hyatt.

Clues led to Wehner, who admitted that he had traded meth to Hyatt in exchange for Vicodin.

Wehner has a criminal history in California and Washington.

Montana had set his bond at $100 thousand dollars. According to deputies in Great Falls, Wehner made bail on Oct. 2 and was released from the Cascade County Jail.

His preliminary hearing has been set for Oct. 16 where it will be decided if his charge will remain at a felony or brought down to a misdemeanor.
