William Lee Irwin
William Lee Irwin was born July 20,1934, to Bill and Mary Irwin, in the home of his maternal grandparents Claude and Shirley Chappel. Bill was their oldest son, followed by Jim, Austin, Ernie and sister, Jennifer.
Bonners Ferry has been home to Bill for 81 years. He happily explored the country roads and wooded areas, often hunting, fishing, gathering huckleberries and firewood and swimming in the Moyie River. He created and shared wonderful memories throughout these mountains.
He knew his wife, Vivian J. Padgett in High School and they were married while Bill was in the Army in 1956. Through their 59 years of marriage they found and fought for the joys of unconditional love. They have set an inspiring example for their three children: Cindy (husband Stu), Bill (wife Linda) and Mary "Josie" (husband Dan).
Bill was also a fun, strong and caring Grandpa to Betsy, Chrissy (husband Nathaniel) and Tyler. Bill and Viv’s home has always been open and welcoming to children and adults alike and everyone that has visited leaves with (at least) a smile.
Bill was a hard worker and held many jobs, however, his true labor of love was on the family farm. Over the past 45 years Bill has spent countless days raising animals, tending to beautiful and productive gardens and usually working selflessly on a project or two.
Bill loved his family and friends and above all his Lord and Savior, Jesus!
Bill attended the Assembly of God Church since 1966 and was a true servant of the Lord.
People who knew Bill, know he lived his nine lives, full of fight, playfulness and deep gratitude.
The family extend thanks to the many caregivers who assisted Bill all these years, especially the past 10 years while on dialysis. They feel blessed that Bill was able to stay home and be cared for and loved greatly by his best friend and wife, Vivian.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of loving the Lord God with all his heart, loving others and in all things giving thanks.
Romans 10:8-13
"The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is , the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
As scripture says, "Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
To God be the Glory! A celebration of life will be held on Oct. 24 at 11 p.m. at Bridge Way Assembly of God at 66027 Highway 2 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
