Gerry Ann Howlett wins 'Margaritaville'
BONNERS FERRY — The Mirror Lake Ladies Golf Association held their “Margaritaville” invitational golf tournament on Wednesday, July 13. The tournament was attended by players from Creston, B.C., Libby, Mont., Sandpoint and Mirror Lake.
The overall winner and crowned “Miss Margaritaville” was Gerry Ann Howlett of Bonners Ferry, with a gross score of 92.
Kate Wordon won first place in the “A” flight with a net score of 72. Cay Husband won first place in the “B” flight with a net score of 70 and Maureen Blackmore won first place in the “C” fight with a net score of 72.
Second place net winners were Therese Helmer in “A” flight with a score of 77, Stacey Lukac in “B” flight with a score of 73 and Anne Bonar in flight “C” with a score of 76.
Third place net winners were Nita Garvey in the “A” flight with 74, Anita Wellspring in the “B” flight with 73 and Donna Weiberg in the “C” flight with a score of 78.
There were various on course games played, and the winners were: longest putt, Donna Weiberg; longest drive, Bobette Dowling; closest to the pin, Elaine Morgan; accuracy shot, Shirley Chase; and closest to the 150 marker on hole 7, Sue Vanderwyck. Tracey Sanders won the 50/50 drawing.
Prizes included cash and spa/food gift certificates from Kootenai River Inn for the first, second and third place winners in their respective flights as well as the overall winner. A wedge club and two 9-hole passes for Mirror Lake donated by Ralph Lotspeich, a golf bag donated by Karen English, two 9-hole passes for Sandpoint Elks golf course donated by Sandpoint Elks and four 18-hole golf passes for Creston Golf Course donated by Creston Golf rounded out the prizes.
The following members for the Mirror Lake Ladies Golf Club donated gift baskets for the raffle: Ada Gardiner, Kim Mason, Linda Rupley, Therese Helmer, Heannie Richards, Evelyn Rae, Linda Hiatt, Anne Bonar and Elaine Morgan.

The Mirror Lake Ladies golf meets every Tuesdy evening at 5 p.m. and Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. for nine holes of golf. Please join us. New members are always welcome.
