Danny Ray Gentry

Danny Ray Gentry, 60, passed peacefully on July 20, 2016 at Bonner General Health and Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho. The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13 at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison St., Bonners Ferry.

He was born Oct. 26, 1955 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Floyd and Leona Gentry and was the sixth of six children. Danny attended school in Boundary County, then moved to Coalinga, Cal. where he graduated high school in 1974. He led a full and interesting life, enjoing hunting, fishing and camping. He worked in farming both in California and North Idaho after he moved back in 2002.

He is survived by his brothers, Orval (Connie) Gentry and Lonnie (Vicki) Downing, both of Bonners Ferry, and Duane Downing of Pierce, Idaho; his sister, Sandra (Edward) Boger of Henrieville, Utah; his daughter, Katie Gentry of Rosamond, Cal.; his stepson, William (Jessyca) Jones of Henrieville, Utah and his stepdaughter, Laura Martin of Tafts, Cal.; 10 step-granchildren, and lots of nephews, nieces, great- and great-great-nephews and nieces.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Monte Downing; and a sister-in-law, Gracye Downing.
