High School welcomes new principal
BONNERS FERRY -- Students walking into Bonners Ferry High School will see a new, yet familiar person sitting in the principal’s chair, Kevin Dinning.
Dinning was raised in Boundary County and is a 2001 graduate of BFHS. He attended North Idaho College for a year, then transferred to Porterville, CA where he played baseball. In 2009, he completed his degree at the University of Idaho.
Dinning returned to BFHS in 2009 to do his student teaching. From 2010 until 2012 he was the language arts teacher at the Boundary County Middle School. 2012 until 2014, he and his wife traveled abroad to Abu Dhabi. While in Abu Dhabi, he was a high school English teacher for a National School. His love of learning continued while in Abu Dhabi; he earned his Masters in Educational Leadership online from Concordia University.
Returning stateside in 2014, he made his home in Priest River where he was the dean of students and the communications teacher for one year. The following year, he was the vice principal and athletic director.
“My goal for BFHS is consistency and support for the teachers,” stated Dinning.
Principal Dinning relocated to Boundary County with his wife, Heidi, and their two year old daughter, Sophie.
