BONNERS FERRY — A team of walkers from Bonners Ferry will be participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Sept. 11 in Coeur d’Alene. They are asking for help from community members, either by walking with them or by donating to the cause.

The walk helps raise funds for education seminars to educate the community about Alzheimer’s Disease. By offering assistance, area residents can support those whose famiies are affected by this disease and fund further research to find a cure for Alzheimer’s.

The goal for the walk this year is to raise $80,000. So far, $17,549 has been raised. The Bonners Ferry walkers are seeking to collect $1,000, and they are almost halfway there, with $459 raised to date. With some help from the community, they can reach their goal.

I’m walking for my 20th year to help reclaim the future for millions,” said team leader Kathy Konek. “By participating in the 2016 Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m committed to raising awarenss and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.”

“Thank you for your consideration and contribution to support those in need,” said the entire team.
