Legal aid lawyer to offer free advice

BONNERS FERRY — A lawyer from the Coeur d’Alene office of Idaho Legal Aid Services will be in Bonners Ferry Monday, Aug 22 to meet with low-income Boundary County residents who have legal problems or questions. Meetings will take place at the Community Action Partnership Food Bank, 6665 Main St.

Legal Aid’s lawyers provide free legal help with the following: problems with government benefit programs, including TAFI (welfare), food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, Social Security and county assistance. They also can address tenants’ problems with landlords, including evictions and repairs, foreclosures of subsidized mortgages, customer problems with utility companies and problems dealing with creditors.

Those interested in meeting with the lawyer on the fourth Monday of each month can schedule a time to meet by calling the CAP Food Bank at 267-3663. The meetings will take place in Bonners Ferry. Residents can contact Idaho Legal Aid Services, Inc. at 208-667-9559 throughout the month to seek legal help for problems that cannot wait until the next monthly visit to Bonners Ferry.
