September 11, 1924 - August 15, 2016

Laura Jeanne LaChance, age 91, passed home to heaven on Monday, August 15, 2016.

She was born on September 11, 1924 to Glenn and Delpha Lown in Bloomington, Illinois. In 1943, she graduated from Bloomington High School. She met and married Verdun LaChance; then moved to various locations in California and finally settled in the high desert area of Lucerne Valley, Calif, where they worked and raised their three children.

She was a career employee for the Postal Service there and retired at the age of 62, upon which, they moved to Eatonville, Wash., then later settled in Bonners Ferry.

She led a quiet and meaningful life, was never bored, enjoyed every place and house she lived in and every place she worked. She was always thankful and there for her children and grandchildren who she loved very much. She was often described as “sweet” to all who met or knew her. She enjoyed her spare moments making beautiful quilts, which she found the most reward in giving away.

What gave her the most meaning and purpose in life though, was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She left us with these words: “I have lived by the grace and mercy of God and because of Jesus’ death and resurrection for my sin, am able to go be with Him forever”.

She was an example to all her children of her faith which they all three share in the hope of heaven through Jesus Christ as well.

She was preceded in death by her husband Verdun, her parents Glen and Delpha Lown, her siblings: Dick Lown, Ruth Brown, Harriet Dubois, and Dorothy Basham.

She is survived by her three children and eight grandchildren: Maureen (Robert) Lange of Bonners Ferry, sons Dietrich (wife Rebekah) Lange, of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, and Stefan Lange of Bonners Ferry.

Darryl (Linda) LaChance and their four children: Analisa, Rachael, Gian, and Ricco all of San Bernardino, California.

Coleen (Jay) Trocke of Bonners Ferry, son Christian currently in the air force and Jessy Trocke of Bonners Ferry.

She leaves a very big space to fill in her family’s’ lives and will be sorely missed. But we have joy that she is completely healed, whole and young again seeing her Saviour and the glories of heaven where we look forward to being reunited.

Memorial to be announced.
