Kirby doesn't represent everyone
Recently, during a Commissioner’s meeting, in front of several witnesses, Walt Kirby stated, “I don’t represent everyone.”
Interestingly, after trying to obtain the minutes of that meeting for over two weeks, those words spoken by Kirby had not been included in the record.
The matter in front of the commissioners was to call to light the reason why Boundary County Planning and Zoning was requiring citizens, looking to simply receive a new address for an unimproved property, to fill out a residential placement permit and pay a $35 fee.
When did our Planning and Zoning department gain the power to force citizens to get approval for the location of their home on their own land?
If that isn’t bad enough, the Commission’s feigned no knowledge of the requirement of new address applicants to pay a $35 fee and fill out a “permit” form that has very little to do with an address and provide very detailed information with no relation to a mailing address.
During the meeting, Walt Kirby advised me, “If you want an address, you can just march yourself over to the post office and get a P.O. box.”
What I want to know is, if Kirby doesn’t represent everyone, and he apparently doesn’t represent property rights, then who and what does he represent?
Voting out of office all representatives, at all levels of government, who no longer “represent” the level of conservativeness of the population, is the only “term limits” we need.
Next time you have the opportunity to go to the ballot, consider rolling the dice and giving another individual the opportunity to serve your true interests.
Dan Dinning and Kirby have lost touch with the historical conservativeness of Boundary County and are no longer leading us down that road.
