Spinning away the hours
These ladies were busy spinning. Can you identify them and what activity they were involved in?
If you have an answer, please email doyouremember@meadowcrk.com. If you would like to stay anonymous, just let us know.
Last week we shared a picture from the Fred Mottner collection of Naples Idaho. Fred was born on July 4, 1880 and, with his family, arrived in the area in 1897.
They initially settled in the Brown Creek area. He would spend the rest of his life in the Naples area.
The museum has calculated the picture to have been taken between 1892 and 1917 based on the business’ that are shown.
Several signs that can be read are The Butte Saloon, White Mercantile Co. Ltd, Wilson’s Clothing House and Brewery Beer Hall.
If you have any additional information about the town at this time, please let us know.
A Spin-in will be held at the museum this Saturday, Dec. 10.
If you weave, spin, crochet, knit or tat; or have an interest in learning, come on down to the museum to learn more.
You can just watch, ask questions, learn or participate. Any level of involvement is welcome.
The group will be there from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. See you then!
