The Badgers basketball team (4-7, 2-2) was able to mount a 4th quarter comeback to take a league game Friday at Priest River 50-47, but were unable to sustain that momentum into Saturday, losing to Stillwater Christian 60-50.

“I thought the Priest River game was the best game our team played all season,” said Badger Head Coach Andy Rice. “We played well on both sides of the ball, and only committed 10 turnovers, which really was the difference.”

In the game against Priest River, Caleb Harrington led the way with 16 points, followed by Nick Sabin with 10. Caleb Blackmore chipped in seven points.

Stillwater Christian proved to be up to the task Saturday, however, using their size to slow down the Badgers’ offense.

They’re a good team,” Rice said. “They did have some size on us, and we played a little off coming off an important win against Priest River.”

The Badgers host Timberlake on Friday, a team they earned an overtime win from earlier this season.

Because of the Bonners Ferry Invitational wrestling tournament, the game will be held at the Boundary County Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
