Lane Dirks

| January 28, 2016 2:00 AM

Lane Dirks (4) passed away at Community Hospital on January 24, 2016 due to injuries that he received in an accident. Services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:30 am in the Mountain View Mennonite Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

With anticipation and joy we welcomed Lane Curtis on April 9, 2011 into our hearts and lives. He filled our home with happiness until a tragic accident took his life on January 24, 2016. He was a happy boy, having a ready smile and contagious giggle. He was a singer at a very early age, being able to carry a tune even as a toddler, humming a little tune whenever he was contented and happy.

Lane was a Daddy’s boy, loving to spend every minute he could with him, looking forward to suppertime when his Dad would be home. Weekends when the family could all be together were special times for us all.

Words cannot express our feelings as we think of going on without him. Numerous times he would bring up the subject of Heaven, asking questions of what it would be like, then saying he wished he could go. Now that he is there, we are more determined than ever to join him.

Left with broken hearts are Dad and Mom, Brenton and Kayla Dirks; little sister, Adalie; paternal grandparents, Grant and Nadine Dirks; maternal grandparents, Roger and Cheryl Unruh, paternal great-grandmother Iva Dirks; maternal great-grandmother, Jeanette Dirks all of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; Uncles and Aunts: Ashley and Mike Martin, Ronan, Montana; Dustin and LaWanda Dirks, Shelley, Mitchell and Brendan Dirks, Amy and Fred Wiebe, Greenland, Manitoba; Eric and Cressy, Robb and Chandra, all of Bonners Ferry; Gina and Casey Becker, Potlatch, Idaho, and 13 cousins and as Lane would say many ‘good buddies.’
