BONNERS FERRY — Bear Auto Inc. owner Keith Fairchild has had a passion for automobiles since he was a child. Stepping into his shop, it is undeniable that his business style is hands-on and family operated. According to Fairchild, he had worked at Bear Auto for about 10 years until 1999. He then went to work for the city of Bonners Ferry taking care of its fleet, from street department vehicles and water department vehicles to electric, fire and police vehicles.  In January 2015, Fairchild took over the locally run business.

Bear Auto is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.; with key drop off if necessary. The time frame for turnaround depends on the project. Bear Auto works on all types of vehicles and does anything from the simple oil changes to transmission rebuilds and everything in between.

They also have the capability of rebuilding transfer cases in house or working on the air conditioning unit for your vehicle. Bear Auto offers many options for your vehicle needs and they are excited about an upcoming expansion.
