Margaret Evelyn Haynes Klein
Our loving mother left this world to re-unite with her husband and love of her life Franklin on June 4th, 2016 at the Libby Care Center in Libby, Montana. Margaret Evelyn Haynes Klein, 87, orn June 17, 1928 to John and Florence Haynes on a ranch in Eads, CO. She was the eldest of 6 siblings; Jack, Audrey, Don, Dean, and Larry. We’ve heard she was popular with the boys, but one special guy caught her eye and she married Franklin Paul Klein on Sept. 11th, 1948. They set up housekeeping and started their family.
Dalas was the first child, followed by Dana in Eads, CO… then Tamra and Manon in Bonners Ferry, ID.
Having a special needs child, Margaret became an advocate for opportunity and education. In 1964 the family moved to Libby where she was instrumental in starting the Lincoln County
Sheltered Workshop and a residential group home. Margaret was an active leader in 4-H, taught kindergarten and volunteered many community services. Most notably she was an
artist, not only in oils and acrylics but textiles. She dedicated herself to building an awesome home and raising her children.
Margaret had a bucket list early and was accepted into a fellowship program that honored exceptional leaders in communities across Montana. Exploring Montana was the first year,
Washington DC the second year and Europe, Ethiopia and Yugoslavia the third. She was an adventurer at heart. She always wanted to be on What’s My Line… she would be a “Whistle Punk”…. Dad taught her well…
Roots took the family back to Bonners Ferry where mom eventually had her castle…. The rock house. And that is where some of our best memories lie.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Franklyn and son Dalas. She is survived by Dana, Tamra, Manon, Tess, Alek, Chelsea, Andrew, Austin, Corey, AuRaya, Nick, Olivia, Morgan and
Ally. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby and Bonners Ferry Funeral Home in Bonners Ferry. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
