Eric Haase

| March 24, 2016 3:00 AM

Eric Haase, 72, passed away March 5, 2016.  He was born to Arthur and Jessie Haase on September 14, 1943 in Kelowna, B.C.

He worked for the Idaho Department of Lands from 1975 until his retirement.  It was an ideal job for him because he loved being out in the woods and he enjoyed the people he worked with over the years.

As a member of the Bonners Ferry Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he assisted those in the local congregation as well as made every effort to help people in the community to learn of God’s promises to make the earth a paradise once again.

He looked forward to living then when people will live at peace and be happy, with no more sorrow or death.

Eric enjoyed photography and regularly went to the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge to see what was happening there.  He liked to read and spend time in his shop making beautiful bowls, lamps and vases out of local woods.  He also enjoyed helping friends and neighbors.

He is survived by JoAnn, his wife of 41 years, and his brothers and sisters who all live in Canada – Martha Pohlman, Larry and Cathy Haase, Inez Palatin, Kenneth and Mary Haase, and Joan and Andy Marceau, as well as nieces and nephews.

A memorial for Eric will be held at 10:30 on March 19 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6829 Kaniksu Street, Bonners Ferry, ID.  A dinner in Memorial Hall at the Fairgrounds will follow.

He was such a nice person.

We’re all going to miss him.
