The Springs Restaurant welcomes new head chef Jason Lytle
April 1, the Kootenai River Inn, The Springs restaurant welcomed new Head Chef, Jason Lytle. Lytle, originally from Wyoming is a US Veteran and began his career in the culinary arts to supplement his income while using his GI Bill. Starting in Billings, MT he was asked to manage an Applebee’s; his career only accelerated from there.
Lytle has a reputation for a talent of bringing order to his kitchens. According to Lytle, "I was asked to go to North Carolina for one of the restaurants, the revenue was $1.3 million when I came, I left it was $5 million, when I left."
The Dockside is where he has made his home for the past 10 years, as Head Chef. While working there he has had approximately 10 chefs that worked under him go on to become successful head chefs. He is exited for this new journey in his career and is looking forward to re-energizing the area with new food. The direction he plans on taking The Springs is, "getting back to handmade local favorites – like Grandma’s skillet cooked comfort food."
