Hello Bonners Ferry. The mad dash to the end is under way so hold on. Let’s start with recent events. Congratulations to the Senior class advisors for another great Prom. It is always a joy to see everyone dressed so nice and having a good time. It was also my privilege to escort our Junior Top Scholars to their award ceremony. The top ten in the Junior class are invited to NIC to receive a medallion and recognition along with all the Top Scholars from around the region. It is a great way to recognize all the hard work they have done to keep their grades up. Not to be left out, we honored two Seniors at the annual NISTAR banquet. NISTAR stands for North Idaho Student Teacher Achievement Award. Two seniors are chosen based on their GPA and their involvement in extracurricular activities. Congratulations to Abby Davis, and her teacher Tommy Jacobs. Congratulations to Erica Wood and her teacher Julie Smith.

We have finished the ISAT State test except for the science test which is scheduled for May 16th. If everything goes as planned you should receive student scores in the mail around the end of June. In the classrooms everyone is looking forward to finals. Seniors only have two weeks until their finals start. If you take away the annual trip to Fairmont and Memorial Day, we are right down to the wire. Please help us by encouraging your students to finish strong and not let up during these last few weeks. Don’t forget we change the schedule for underclassmen during finals. We will post the schedule on the website.

Spring sports this year have been amazing. Baseball and Softball both finished the league undefeated. Track has seen a 30 year old pole vaulting record broken by Isaac Lavala and Jordan Young is reeling in the 800m record. Good luck to all athletes competing in state next week.

Last, I would like to take this opportunity express my sincere gratitude to BFHS and Bonners Ferry. If you have not heard, I have resigned as principal so I can move closer to my family. We plan on moving to the Lewiston area this summer. When I first arrived you welcomed me and my family with open arms. You made my children feel welcome and at home. I have sincerely enjoyed my time here as a Badger and have loved working with your children. Thank you for everything, and for the last time- GO BADGERS!
