2016 Farm Tour scheduled for Friday, May 20
It’s that beautiful time of year…Spring! The Boundary Soil Conservation District and Farm Bureau are once again offering their free community farm tour. This year’s event will start with a video to learn about the Kootenai Tribe’s Fish Hatchery, followed by releasing baby sturgeon into the Kootenai River. Then we will head north and have a lesson on the dike system, we will go to Houck Farms located on Farm to Market Road and learn more about farming, have a tour of their new operational flour mill and have a better understanding of the meaning of Farm to Market. We will also have a presentation of last year’s fire devastation and plans for restoration. Lunch will be provided along the way. We will meet at the Boundary County Fairgrounds at 8:00 a.m., program starts at 8:30 sharp on Friday May 20th. The bus should return by 4:00 if not sooner. Hope you can make it. Limited seating.
