1. Constant frustration of seeing politicians playing games and attempting to build their little empires instead of representing the people in a quality manner.

2. I am the ONLY Sheriff Candidate that has worked every section that the agency has, either here in Idaho or in other locations. I am the ONLY Sheriff Candidate that is a Certified Detention Officer, a Certified Detective, a Certified K-9 Officer and CURRENTLY a full time Certified Peace Officer. I have managed/lead agencies as small, same size and larger than the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office. Studied law and religion at Brigham Young University; studied law at Los Angeles Metropolitan College, Kansas State University and Central Missouri

3. In relations to the Sheriff’s Office the top three issues are: The ever-growing drug problem in our community. The lack of jail compliance with Idaho Sheriff’s Association standards. The present inability of Sheriff’s Office timely response to calls for service. More often than not, the Sheriff’s Office is contacted after a crime or identified need. The response time of our staff can be crucial in many factors.

4. One of the major factors in reducing the drug problem and response times will be our Community Partnership program. I have a detailed plan that will include personnel management, training, maximizing office and building space that will bring our jail to be in compliance with Idaho Sheriff’s Association standards within the first year of OUR administration.

5. One that gives back the Sheriff’s Office to the people. Clarity through actions. Never giving lip service.

6. Starts at 1 minute after midnight and ends at midnight. OUR Sheriff’s Office will be as user friendly as possible. As Sheriff, I or a trained staff member will be available to answer any questions or take appropriate actions 24/7/365. WE will constantly strive for improvements and insuring OUR community receives the very best Peace Officer services that we possibly can provide.

7. Improving the Sheriff’s Office services to the level OUR community deserves.

8. In addition to issues mentioned above with resolutions, a challenge that is constant is financial. We have many families that live on a very fixed income. We will NEVER pursue needless taxes or grants that require us to meet quotas.

9. The actual knowledge of each candidate to be able to perform the duties as Sheriff. You cannot effectively and efficiently lead an organization with multiple sections without a working knowledge of each section.

10. I have received all types of personal attacks, none of them being factually based. I have a 37 year career in law enforcement, the last 17 being with the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office. The statement of being only 1 step above a rookie was rather ignorant. My response to any criticism is based off of the age old concept of “sticks and stones”. With the concept of working under total clarity I would take criticism and expose it for what it is.

11. I am not a politician. Politicians have caused the problems we are faced with. They play games with peoples’ futures. I don’t play games and I am the best qualified candidate for the position of Sheriff.
