In support of the hospital levy
I am writing in support of the Boundary Community Hospital levy on Nov. 8. I do this for two basic reasons that I hope will also be the motivation of the members of our county.
The first is the word in the identification of the hospital: “Community”. A vote for this levy says clearly that we care for our friends and neighbors of Boundary County. We want the best possible medical care for them.
Secondly, I write as a follower of Jesus Christ and want to reach out to all who share that faith. When Jesus summed up what he wanted of His followers, he said, “Love God with all your heart and your neighbors as yourself.”
I can’t think of a more profoud way to live that out than to make sure there is adequate medical care for my neighbors (and myself) when it is needed.
Ultimately, this is not about money but about our care and concern for each other.
Sincerely,
Larry D. Nelson
