Downtown Bonners Ferry

| November 17, 2016 12:00 AM

Downtown has changed over the years. From wooden sidewalks and multiple drinking establishments to what you see today.

This photo is from the Terry Howe collection and shows us a glimpse of days gone by.

Do you have a favorite memory of visiting town?

If you have an answer, please email doyouremember@meadowcrk.com. If you would like to stay anonymous, just let us know.

VFW Post #3622 donated a piece of equipment to the radiology department at the hospital, many years ago, and last week we shared a picture of that donation being reviewed by Lester Howard,

Dr. Fredrick Durose and Nurse Margaret Sunderland. Virginia Howard could identify all three. Grace Schuon Leidt remembered working with Dr. Durose and Nurse Sunderland.

She said that Nurse Sunderland did a very good job of running the old hospital, even though she ruled with an iron fist.

She was a jack-of-all-trades, even taking on the position of anesthetist.
