Valley View: November news
For the Herald
The beginning of the year has been great! Students are learning, teachers are teaching and we just completed parent-teacher conferences. We had a great turn out and appreciate the many parents/guardians that made it a point to be here. We have a lot of wonderful things going on at our school with great students and staff working hard.
This month is no different! At VVES we celebrated the character trait of responsibility during October. With that said, it is my privilege to announce that the following students were named Super Star Citizen of the Month:
Patrick Young, Reece Liermann, Aslynn Robbins, Sophia Jackson, Robert Kelsey, Claire Hoggan, Makai Wehner, Aaron Tadlock, Bailey Spencer, David Shiflett, Allison Carrington, Paige Sartell, Rylie Kimball, Eli Blackmore, Sydney Hinthorn, Alexis Vandecoevering, and Loren Huggins.
Please congratulate these very responsible students when you get a chance.
Mrs. Petesch, our wonderful PE teacher, is continuing to promote Family Fitness Challenge, where families exercise together. This month the winner is, fourth grader, Jasmine Stolley.
If you have any questions regarding Family Fitness Challenge, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Petesch at the school.
Mrs. Fuentes’ students this month have really been diving into their science experiments and has studied bacteria and where it grows. Every student walked around and wiped a different area of the school and then put it in a petri dish to see what grew. It was a fascinating project and the students were actively engaged, learning, and creating lifelong memories. These students are really molding into great scientists!
Thanksgiving lunch at VVES was another success with an abundant of visitors sharing lunch with our students.
Thank you for taking the time to make these special memories and please know that you are always welcome to eat lunch at VVES.
The Veterans Day ceremony was a huge success with the entire school recognizing the many veterans not just in our community, but also around the nation. Many individuals contributed to this great event and deserve to be recognized. Mrs. Hannah and the high school band did a great job, as well as our own fifth graders, Trey Bateman and Avalon Thiel for MCing the ceremony. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Teresa Rae for organizing our wonderful event.
Thank you to all the veterans that showed up and shook our student’s hands. It was a great morning at VVES!
