Patricia Ann Cook Ramsay, 73

Patricia Ann Cook Ramsay, 73, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho, on August 30, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the First Lutheran Church, with Pastor Lori Morton and Pastor Steve Neuder officiating.

Patricia was born on April 10, 1943 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Fenley “Bud” and Albertha “Bonnie” (Myhre) Cook. Pat was one of seven children, she was proud that she came from a large family and always believed family came first.

Pat considered all of her friends as extended family. She was known in Bonners Ferry as “Patsy” and in Sandpoint as “Pat.” Over the years she worked at the Naples Cedar Mill, The Klondyke, Tam O’Shanter, and she sold home interiors. She started the mud volleyball tournament at the Klondyke to build a playground at the Laclede Community Center. At the Tam, she organized the Christmas Adopt-a-Family, which grew from one family to seven with the help of the good people and friends of the Tam. She also served as the Sec./Tres. of the Panhandle Racing Association, and helped with the Wishing Star Foundation.

Pat married Butch Ramsay on March 13, 1965 in Sandpoint. They adopted Chad Michael after nine years of marriage; then, eight years later they adopted Eugene Donald. They also have a daughter, Kathi Jo.

She was blessed with three brothers, Marvin D. and special friend Doreen, Johnnie A. and wife Dena, Dale F. Cook and wife Gina all from the McArthur Community; three sisters, Lois E. (Jensen) Steen, Bonnie Jean (Sam) McEwan and Emilie M. (Shane) Owens all of Sandpoint, Idaho. She is survived by her husband, Butch of Sandpoint, and five grandchildren: Anna Lisa, Laura Lee (Lolly) Moore of Rainer, Washington, Chase Alan Ramsay and Gage Matthew Ramsay and Seda Elise Ramsay, all of Laclede, Idaho.
