It is a great time to be in Bonners Ferry with the leaves turning, snow in the mountains, and the smell of wood stoves burning. This little dot on the map we all call home is a special place with so much to offer. I know personally, I really enjoy the various recreational activities, the beauty, and the people. With that said, it really is the people that make our community a great place to live. Here at Valley View it is no different. The individuals that decide to make a career here are amazing in so many ways. They are constantly making personal and professional sacrifices daily for the betterment of our students. The level of support and buy-in for each individual student is rare. The team here is outstanding and there are many reasons for that, but what I credit it to the most is that people here are professional and enjoy children. They have found their calling in life and it shows! It also helps that many of us have our own children, grandchildren, nieces, or nephews in the building. This creates an atmosphere where the entire team continuously strives for safety, personalized education, and an array of positive lifelong memories. VVES is a great place to be and I hope that more individuals in this community will consider volunteering and or visiting us on a regular basis.

Talking about great people! New this year is our Super Star Citizen of the Month. These VVES students are recognized by their homeroom teacher for displaying the character trait of the month. The following students were selected for exhibiting respect here at VVES: Joan Moellmer, Jaycee Bateman, Kaylee Stolley, James Aspitarte, Marley Pauls, Dayami Lopez, Brayden Patton, Callie Bateman, Madilyn Gibbons, Kaelan Robbins, Avery Zody, Brooke Petesch, Kyleigh Brewer, Ivaan Cartwright, Hayden Hazdovac, Addy Heigel, and Dakyn Robbins. Please congratulate these respectful boys and girls when you see them.

Mrs. Petesch, our wonderful PE teacher, is continuing to promote the Family Fitness Challenge, where families exercise together. This month the winner is, third grader, Mary Moon! If you have any questions regarding Family Fitness Challenge, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Petesch at the school.

This year we have some new playground equipment that the students are enjoying during recess. The fifth grade Leadership Team put on a few

fundraisers last year and saved enough money for an outside volleyball net that was installed by Mr. and Mrs. Schulte. In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Petesch recently spent an evening installing some new Frisbee golf baskets for all to enjoy. Thank you to the many students and adults that made this happen. You are appreciated!
