David Russell Hall

Known to many by his nickname, Limey, David Russell Hall, passed away August 16, 2016. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 3, 2016 at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. All who knew and loved David “Limey” Hall are welcome to attend.

He was born in Brentwood, Essex England and held dual U.K. and American citizenship. His father, Edmen Nelson Hall, an American soldier during WW ll, and his mother, Amy Louise Jolly, married in 1944, and David was born in 1945. Mrs. Hall came to the United States as a war bride in 1946, when David was about one year old.

Limey Hall retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant. He served in several capacities, one of which was being a weapons and survival skills instructor to U.S. Special Forces. He served three tours in the Vietnam War with distinction. He was a Green Beret.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Hall, a daughter, Stephaine Hall, three sons, Scott Hall, David Daugherty, and Jason Daugherty, as well as two sisters, Jean Bock and Paula West. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Steve Hennig and granddaughter, Jade Hennig. He leaves behind many other family members and friends who loved him as well.

He played Santa Claus at the Naples Store and rode a Harley-Davidson in the Memorial Day parade every year for many years. He will be missed by many.
