Do You Remember - School's Open Next Week
School will be opening next week. Can you identify this school building? Do you know where it is located? Do you know what it was used for? If you have an answer, please email doyouremember@meadowcrk.com. If you would like to stay anonymous, just let us know.
Dave Peterson shared this story about last week’s picture of the Katka School. “This is the Fred and Lenna Ellis Ranch on Katka. My grandmother, Blanche Petty, taught school there in 1927. Blanche met and married Lenna’s brother, Victor Schell, in Bonners Ferry. The area would later be known as the Bill Ellis Ranch. Gramma Ellis lived there until she moved to town.” History tells us that the original farm was built in 1916. The Myers bought the home in 1979. For more information about the area, you can read about it in the “History of Boundary County Vol. 1” page 271.
