Fundraiser for Brenda Dirks slated

BONNERS FERRY —— A fundraiser to help community member Brenda Dirks with medical expenses will take place Sept. 16 from 7 p.m. until midnight.

The Eagles Aerie, 7159 Second St. behind Akins in Bonners Ferry, is the venue for the gala evening. Wastin’ Time will provide live entertainment and finger food is on the appetizer menu.

Organizers ask attendees to donate a $5 cover charge per person, and everyone is invited to attend.

The main event of the evening will be live auction. A truckload of firewood, a truckload of gravel and numerous miscellaneous items will be up for bid. Anyone wishing to donate items for the auction should drop them off between Friday, Sept. 9 and Thursday, Sept 15 at the Eagles Aerie, which is open Monday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The County Extension Office behind the courthouse is also accepting auction items Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will go to Brenda Dirks to assist with her medical expenses.
