BONNERS FERRY — A new Main Street advisory committee will convene for the first time next week at the Visitor Center in Bonners Ferry. Organizer Dennis Weed, director of the Boundary Economic Development Council, said the committee will be tasked with reviewing the appearance of the downtown area and provide recommendations for improvement.

“The committee will review and decide on what is best for all business owners to enhance Main Street and make it appealing to customers who use our town,” said Weed. “The committee’s first item will be to determine what areas and ideas they would like to undertake for enhancing our Main Street community.”

He invited all business owners on Main to volunteer for the committee. The first meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m, 7198 Highway 95.

“I look forward to working with each and every one of you to see our beautiful town enhanced into a great place to shop, eat and spend the day,” Weed said.
