n St. George beats Badger boys 2-1

Seth Bateman had 17 saves in goal, and Mason McGinnis scored in the fifth minute, but it wasn’t enough as the Badgers fell 2-1 to St. George in nonleague boys soccer recently.

n Badgers beat Wildcats in IML volleyball

Miranda Wenk and Olivia Whitaker each posted six kills and three blocks at the net, leading the Badgers to a 25-21, 15-25, 25-18, 25-21 win over Kellogg in Intermountain League volleyball recently in Kellogg. Hayley Olsen had 13 assists and Kadi Bateman 16 digs in defeat.

Prior to that, the Badgers were swept 25-22, 25-19, 25-17 by Timberlake in a home match, with Jadyn Bennett tallying 14 digs and Bateman 11 set assists in the loss.

The Badgers are at Coeur d’Alene Charter on Sept. 22.

n Gorton 14th at Hayden Invitational

HAYDEN — Abigail Gorton finished 14th in a time of 21:37 to lead the Bonners Ferry girls to a seventh place finish at the host Hayden Canyon Invitational on Saturday.
