Goodbye to the old Valley View gym bleachers

It is time to say goodbye to the old Valley View gym bleachers. They were originally the High School bleachers when the now middle school was built back in the 70’s.

They have seen some good days, but time has caught up with them and it is finally time to retire them to make way for some new, safe, & code compliant bleachers.

Many people have and continue to contribute/donate to the new bleachers. The Valley View PTO has worked hard to raise a significant portion of their cost.

The Bonners Ferry Rotary Club is working on a matching grant to raise the remaining funds.

The Rotary Club will be holding an offsite meeting on Tuesday the 4th of April at Valley View to assist in the dismantling of the old bleachers.

After receiving several estimates on the value of the old bleachers, it has been determined there is no useful value for them. They are not code compliant and cannot be sold to to be used as bleachers due to liability reasons.

The only value in them would be for salvage or reclaimed wood.

We have contacted several reclaimed wood companies and have received little interest in them. We do have a couple local offers, but would like to make the community aware to see if there is any interest.
