Jennifer King Memorial Application Scholarship

BOISE – For the fourth consecutive year, the Idaho State Bar Diversity Section’s Love the Law! program will begin accepting applications for the Jennifer King Memorial Application Scholarship on Monday, April 3, 2017.

Named in honor of the late Jennifer King, this scholarship memorializes Jennifer’s commitment to encouraging and acknowledging Bar members who reflect Idaho’s great diversity and strength.

Jennifer was a member of the Idaho State Bar and a leader in the Diversity Section. She was a talented and able lawyer, passionate about bolstering diversity in the legal profession. Jennifer championed the goals of increased diversity among the ranks of lawyers and judges throughout the state of Idaho, as well as working to attract students of diverse backgrounds to study the rule of law.

Within the Diversity Section and in her tireless efforts to support the various Love the Law! programs, Jennifer was an example for every section member to emulate. This scholarship in her honor is available to students applying to a law school located in Idaho. Additionally, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and sit for the September or December 2017 LSAT.

Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of approximately $1,100 to pay for the LSAT study course, test fees and Idaho law school application fees. The application will be available beginning Monday, April 3, 2017 with a final deadline of 5:00 p.m. MDT / 4:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, May 5, 2017.

Scholarships will be awarded by Friday, May 19, 2017 and recipients will be contacted accordingly.
