Time Flies: News from Naples and Mt. Hall Schools
Fourth Quarter is here, and the next nine weeks are going to fly by. Spring Break couldn’t have come at a better time. Students and staff were ready for their much deserved break, and now we are refreshed and ready to finish the year strong.
Naples and Mt Hall are gearing up for the ISAT. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have been working hard, and our teachers have done a tremendous job preparing them for the task ahead. A huge thank you to Jennifer Bonar and Kelli Ripatti who have spent the year getting the students familiar with the computer, as the test is all computer-based. I’m excited to see how all of our hard work has paid off.
Naples is also getting ready to welcome an artist based out of Boise, to our school for a residency project. The project is focused around building community and integrated with writing skills. The kindergarteners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders all will read a different story, and then complete a project based around it. The artist will come and guide the students through an interpretive dance that will be performed for parents and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.
We are excited for this year’s program! This project would not have been possible without the incredible leadership of Miss Molly Cochell.
Mt Hall’s 5th grade is preparing for spring with a hydroponics project. Mrs. Lyndsay Hart and Mrs. Myrna Myers have challenged the kids to start thinking of different farming practices. The students are anxious to see their plants grow using this innovative approach. Mrs. Laura Nishek and the 4th grade have just completed an Iditarod project. The students researched the Iditarod and followed the journey of the brave mushers and dogs as they made the incredible journey across Alaska’s tough terrain. I always enjoy watching the younger students walk by these projects in the hallway. Their eyes get big with excitement, and I can tell they are looking forward to what’s to come.
If you have a future Wolverine or Wildcat who is planning on attending kindergarten next fall, make sure to call the schools for a kindergarten registration appointment. Mt Hall’s kindergarten registration will be on Thursday, April 20. You can call Beth Butters at Mt Hall at 208-267-5276 to make your appointment. Naples’ kindergarten registration will be on Friday, April 28.
You can call Linda Lee at Naples at 208-267-2956. We look forward to meeting you and your kindergartener.
I want to thank you all for your support of Naples and Mt Hall. We know it takes a village, and we strive to give our kids the best education Boundary County has to offer.
Until next month, Go Wolverines! and Go Wildcats!
