Weather creates mudslide, flooding conditions

| April 13, 2017 12:24 PM

BONNERS FERRY — Once again Boundary County will be experiencing wetter weather than normal. This moisture added to our already wet conditions may create more sliding and flooding conditions, Boundary County Emergency Manager Michael Meier said in an April 13 press release.

Meier said Furrow Road is CLOSED just east of junction at Flat House Rd continuing east to the junction at Farm to Market Road for culvert work. Farm to Market Rd and Flat House Rd are both OPEN.

Barricades and road closure signs are installed while this work is being done. Information: Road and Bridge at 208-267-3838.

Most side roads are open to light traffic with all of our secondary roads having weight restrictions, Meier said. Plan your route; vary your route as necessary to get home or to work as needed.

Boundary County road and Bridge works hard to publish road closures so avoid those places if possible. Watch for updates on road closures and slide activity.

In all cases be careful, Meier said. Never drive through deep standing water, never enter a slide area, and always call 911 for emergencies, state your name, your location, and the type of emergency.
