Living with Grizzlies: An Idaho Conservation League after hours event

| April 27, 2017 1:00 AM

BONNERS FERRY – The Idaho Conservation League is teaming up with grizzly expert Wayne Kasworm on May 3rd to provide an inside look at this unique species and to promote awareness about living safely in grizzly habitat.

The presentation will provide a glimpse into how the Selkirk Grizzly population is managed and how to travel safely in their territory. Kasworm works as a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regional grizzly bear biologist based in Libby, Montana. Through his work he has collected more than a few tales from the field about close encounters with this large predator. Learn from Kasworm’s extensive experience with grizzlies about how to keep both yourself and those fuzzy critters safe this season.

“Living with Grizzlies” is scheduled from 7:30 to 8:30 PM on May 3 at the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge, located at 287 Westside Rd., Bonners Ferry. The event is free and open to the public. Call 208-265-9565 for more information.
