Stephen Douglas Moody
Stephen Douglas Moody was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 22, 1940 to Wilbert & Bessie Moody. He passed away peacefully at home to be with Jesus on December 5, 2016.
Steve attended high school in Boston, Massachusetts and in his senior year won first place medal at the high school swimming competition. Shortly after high school he entered military service. Later, he worked as a hot walker, training and exercising thoroughbred race horses with his grandfather at Saratoga Springs, Aqueduct and Belmont race tracks in New York and Pimlico racetrack in Florida. He later moved to Billings, Montana in 1977 and settled in Bonners Ferry, Idaho for more than 35 years.
Steve was saved by Jesus as an adult.
He was totally changed and began a life of peace. He shared his testimony to help others come to Christ and the power of God’s love.
He led many souls to Christ and boldly spoke of his love and gratitude to God with friends, family and especially strangers.
He enjoyed fishing and clam digging along the beaches of New England. He liked playing cards and making others laugh at life. He was known in his family for his loyalty, quiet demeanor and dry witty humor. He was generous and kind.
Stephen is survived by friends in Bonners Ferry, sister Stella Moody, a host of nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces throughout the US and France.
We celebrate his life and hold a memorial in his honor.
