4-H Friday Friends

| August 10, 2017 1:00 AM

Do you have school-age children? Does a 4-day school week disagree with your 5-day work week? Do you need a safe, reliable, and educational program to keep your kids occupied on Fridays? Perhaps 4-H Friday Friends is the answer you’ve been looking for!

We are a fun, educational program for kids Kindergarten through sixth grade every Friday during the school year with a couple of exceptions (i.e. holiday breaks, snow days, etc.). The hours are 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Since it is a long day for the kids, we provide a morning and an afternoon snack while the children bring their own lunch.

We provide the children with constructive activities and games that help to teach and practice math skills, reading, writing, arts and crafts, physical health, and nutrition as well as homework assistance for students. Our staff is high-energy and fun-loving as well as having passed background checks and are certified in CPR and basic first aid. The cost for our program is $12 per child, per day. We do, however, offer a sliding fee scale for lower-income families.

If this sounds like a program that you and your family would benefit from, please call the Boundary County Extension Office at 208-267-3235 or come down to the office at 6447 Kootenai Street, Bonners Ferry. Information and registration paperwork will also be available at our booth at this year’s Boundary County Fair, Aug. 16-19.
