William Dickerson

1943 — 2017

It is with a heavy heart to advise people who knew William Dickerson, 74, of his passing on August 8, 2017 in Hayden, Idaho. He did it his way!

He was born Feb. 11, 1943 in American Fork, Utah to William Edward (deceased) and Lois (Levig) Dickerson (deceased). Bill, as he was called by most people, spent his younger years between Porthill, Idaho, and Oak Ridge, Ore.

In 1959 the family made a permanent move to Bonners Ferry, Idaho. By that time his brother Tom had joined the family. After his father and mother divorced when he was 19 years old, Edgar Wells (deceased) became his step-father. By this union, Bill and Tom gained step-brothers, Donald and Rusty, and step-sisters, Wanda and Barbara.

Bill was interested in car mechanics at an early age, which inspired him to acquire numerous junker cars to build one reliable fast car. There were numerous car building projects going on in the back yard day and night. Hard work was not uncommon as he continued to fine tune his love for mechanics, but his journey in life found him also driving truck, heavy equipment mechanic, Deputy Sheriff in Bonners Ferry, woodworking, equipment operator, and just about anything he could find to keep busy. Friends and family could always count on him for any task that needed done.

Survivors include children: Ron, Rhonda, Tami, David and Chris; girlfriend, Kari Franks and her children; brother, Tom; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

“This is your last rodeo, Bro.”
