BONNERS FERRY — The Badgers boys soccer team had a great start to its 2017 season, opening with a 3-0 Intermountain League victory over visiting Priest River on Saturday, Aug. 19.

The game had a slow start, as the Spartans kept up with the tempo set by the Badgers. In the second half, the Badgers settled into their groove, finding their focus, and stepping up their individual performances.

“I was proud of our players and their efforts for our first official game playing as a team,” said Coach Wayne Wilkerson. “The seniors stepped up, as they normally do, and set the pace of the game showing determination and experience.”

Wilkerson said seniors Kyler Robles, Tyler Beazer and Pacen Pluid played a particularly strong opening game. With the makings of a strong team, the Badger boys are hoping for a successful season.
