BONNERS FERRY — Coaches Justin Pluid and Eddy Invernon took the Middle school wrestling team to Kellogg, Idaho, last Thursday, Dec. 7, for the District 1 Middle School Championships.

Taking first for the Badgers were Jake Summerfield, Marcus Regehr, Eli Richards, Joel Cowley, Kyle Smith, Andrew Sandelin, and Hunter Higeretta. In addition, 7 other Badgers placed in the top 4 to win the Team Title for the second year in a row.

“It was a very dominating season for the Badgers as they won the majority of the matches during the dual meets against the league teams and the bigger schools of Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Sandpoint,” stated coach Corey Richards. “Many of the kids had undefeated seasons and the younger ones gained a ton of experience and showed great improvement throughout the season and came on strong at the end.”
