Icy roadways cause Wednesday accidents

A collision between a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer occurred shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday on Roosevelt Road, near Zimmerman Road.

BONNERS FERRY — Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 9:12 a.m. a single-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 95, Peterson Hill, in the vicinity of mile marker 501. According to Boundary County Sheriff Dispatch, the vehicle went over the guardrail and rolled down an embankment.

Boundary Ambulance gave the sole occupant a courtesy ride to their home. Idaho State Police are investigating the crash.

Shortly after 11 a.m. another accident occurred on Roosevelt Road, near Zimmerman Road, involving a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle. According to first responders, the road conditions were reported to be very slick. The road was shut down so that Bounbdary County Road & Bridge could come and sand the area and the accident could be cleared.
