Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Bonners Ferry Gun Club

| December 28, 2017 12:00 AM

Saturday Dec. 23

“Dukes Claybusters” practice shoot. We only had two brave shooters today as it was only 10 degrees, with a slight breeze. Nick White had a 19x25 and Falen Eberhardt broke 17x25. Very good scores for this weather. The clubhouse was a good place to warm up between rounds and the hot chili and hot chocolate really hit the spot.

The Spokesman Review and The Sky Net 8 week shoot starts the week after next, Jan. 7, 2018. The eight-week shoot counts only the first 16 yards scores shot at with no practice.

The BF Gun Club would like to thank the Kootenay Valley Sportsman Club for the donation to the “Claybusters” high school shooting club. I would like to remind you young ladies and men that the K.V.S.C. has an indoor and outdoor shooting range if you like rifle or pistol shooting rather than moving clay targets.

I know this is the Holiday Break, but you students still need to do your homework and keep those grades up. Students need passing grades to have your scores turned into the Spokesman and Sky Net each week. I am confident the “Dukes Claybusters” will score in the top brackets for Jr. shooters out of some 20 or 30 shooting clubs.

The Over the Hill Gang shoots on Sundays, anyone interested is welcome, young or old, male or female. We shoot practice rounds and annie oakleys at the end of practice. The club members will be shooting for score, if they want to, on Sundays starting Jan. 7 2018.

Hope it warms up and Keep your powder dry,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
