Theatre Troupe to perform Aida tonight
BONNERS FERRY — The Aida cast will take stage tonight in their fourth performance of the timeless classic ‘Aida.’
From Cairo’s Khedivial Opera House in 1871 to Bonners Ferry, now in 2017: Boundary County School District Theater Troupe presents Aida!
The show starts at 7 p.m. tonight in the Bonners Ferry High School Becker Auditorium. A love story that spans the generations, Aida was picked by the district-wide theater troupe for the classic story.
Director David Carpenter and his wife, Assistant Director Dawn Carpenter, have been staging productions for about 10 years.
“The kids love the music, love the story — they eat it up!” said Dawn Carpenter. “We are out of our minds excited. We were reflecting on the first day of practice, til now, and are overjoyed by the confident and soaring spirits we have tonight.”
The diversity of the cast ranges from adults 40-years old to the 6-year-old Claire Hoggan, who plays a Nubian in the production.
“I’m so nervous!” Hogan exclaimed, as she prepared to take stage on opening night.
Cast members invite the community to come and enjoy the famous production that has graced the stages from Argentina, Munich, Rio de Janeiro to our backyard, right here, in Bonners Ferry.
Showings will continue from March 2 through 4. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with curtains being drawn at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $8.
