Youth spring wrestling league to begin next week

BONNERS FERRY — The Bonners Ferry Wrestling Club (BFWC) reminds young wrestlers that the youth spring wrestling league will begin in March.

The first practice will take place Wednesday, March 1, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the wrestling room at Bonners Ferry High School.

Wrestlers from the age of four up through the 12th grade level are welcome to participate.

Practices are scheduled for Wednesday’s from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Friday’s from 9 to 11 a.m.

Coaches will focus on freestyle and greco styles, and there will be two folkstyle tournaments during the season: one in Libby, Mont. on March 4, and another in the Spokane Valley on April 1. All other tournaments will be freestyle/greco.

If the child holds a current USA limited membership card they may wrestle at the folkstyle tournaments and practices.

If the child needs to upgrade the USA card to include freestyle/greco, it will be an additional 30 dollars.
